Many times, when I’m talking to people about growing their businesses, I tell them it’s going to take twice as long, and it will cost them twice as much.
There is a fascination in our world about the get rich quick opportunity.
We want the quick fix.
We want overnight success.
We want everything now.
Wouldn’t it be great to get rich quick?
All our problems would be solved if we could get everything we wanted immediately.
Except they wouldn’t.
That’s not the way life works.
Life is ever-evolving, and as soon as we figure it out, we realize there is so much more that we didn’t even know existed.
In the last year, I’ve discovered what I call the ever-expanding puzzle.
I work diligently to put the pieces of the puzzle together.
Once I thought I solved the puzzle, I realize something significant.
The puzzle I just completed is incomplete.
When I zoom out, I realize the puzzle is much larger than I initially imagined.
Remember when I said earlier, wouldn’t it be great if we got everything we wanted immediately?
No, it wouldn’t be great.
It would be a tragedy.
If we got everything we wanted immediately, we would lose the price that we must pay to achieve our successes.
As we toil away and grind it out to achieve something spectacular happens.
We evolve.
We grow.
As we grow, we experience the joy that can only be feasted upon by those who work to earn that joy.
We put ourselves on the journey of success.
True success in business is a long game. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
