How would you respond to me if I told you one hour is all you need to change your life forever?
One hour.
Sixty minutes.
Three hundred and sixty seconds.
One hour is the key to unlocking the life of your dreams…
That seems impossible.
How could that be?
Let’s dive a little deeper into my proposition.
A year ago, I started the process to become a Certified Profit First Professional.
The certification process is rigorous and takes the average person about six months to complete.
As I was reviewing the Profit First Curriculum, I developed a plan to do all the work necessary to obtain my certification.
I still had other work obligations and knew I only had a limited amount of time that I could devote to the Profit First Certification curriculum.
I also knew enough about myself that if I didn’t have a plan to do the work, more urgent items would take over my life. This would inevitably delay my progress on becoming a Certified Profit First Professional.
I came up with a simple plan to complete the Profit First curriculum.
I decided to devote one hour a day to my Profit First Certification curriculum.
Every morning when I arrived at my office, I started with my one hour of Profit First work.
I went to the timer app on my smartphone and set it to one hour. I then pushed the start button on the timer, and I worked diligently for an hour.
How the time flew as I was learning all the Profit First principles.
The next thing I noticed was the timer went off, and I closed up my Profit First work.
I continued with my Profit First hour of work each workday for the next three and a half months.
I completed the curriculum and became a Certified Profit First Professional.
I was super excited at my results.
I had accomplished in three and a half months what normally takes most people six months.
What was even more surprising to me was the amount of dense knowledge about Profit First I received as a result of consistently applying myself an hour a day for three and a half months.
Then I went to ProfitCon In New Jersey for two days in September 2018.
I was really looking forward to getting to know other Profit First Professionals. Other people who recognized the value of Profit First. I’ve always met wonderful people at work conferences, and I knew ProfitCon would be no exception.
I started getting to know several other people at the conference. I had learned a little bit about the Mastery Profit First Certification but didn’t know much about the Certification.
I got to mingle with some of the Mastery Certified Profit First Professionals. I could tell they were a different caliber of professional.
They were a cut above the rest of the other Profit First Professionals. Their knowledge was deeper in both Profit First and also in business ownership.
I knew instantly that the Master Profit First Professionals were a group of people that I wanted to be around so I could learn from them.
On the first day of ProfitCon, Ron Sahayran, the co-founder of Profit First Professionals, welcomed me and said he wanted to meet with me individually. We set up a time to have breakfast the following day.
Ron and I met for breakfast at a local New Jersey dinner. If you’ve not been to New Jersey, there are diners all over the place.
Ron shared with me that he was super impressed with the progress I’ve made as a Profit First Professional. He told my progress with the Profit First Certification was one of the quickest he’d seen since the founding of Profit First Professionals.
Ron then shared with me that I had developed to a level where the next natural step was to become a Mastery Certified Profit First Professional.
I was surprised to hear I had already elevated myself to their level. Last September, becoming a Mastery Certified Profit Professional was not even in my plans.
After our breakfast, I committed to becoming a Mastery Certified Profit First Professional.
I met some wonderful people at ProfitCon and learned a ton.
Later in 2018, I became a Master Certified Profit First Professional.
And then I got to December. I got busy with work and discontinued my hour of consistent Profit First work. The worst part was I didn’t realize I had discontinued what I now call my Power Hour until the beginning of March 2019.
I was in Orlando, Florida, for the International Maxwell Certification conference. I was attending a workshop led by Chris Robinson. He asked us to think about all the things we had learned at the conference.
I had learned a lot during my three days and had a long list.
“Now, I want to write down the one thing from this conference that you are going to implement when you go back home,” said Chris.
I reflected on everything I had done over the last twelve months. I thought long and hard about what I wanted to do over the next year.
That’s when I remembered my Power Hour habit.
I decided right then and there that I would make my Power Hour habit a permanent part of my life.
Every day the first hour of my work is devoted to working on the most important task for my business.
I open up the timer app on my smartphone and set the timer for one hour. I then begin working on the most important task in my business.
On June 17, 2019, I started the One Funnel Away Challenge. Earlier this week, I received a training from Russell Brunson, the Founder of ClickFunnels.
“Here is my challenge to you, every day for the next 365 days I want to you publish. I promise you if you publish for 365 days it will change your life.”
I’ve accepted the challenge. Every day for the next 365 day, I will publish an article.
I’m looking forward to seeing how publishing every day for a year will change my life.
