I’m now in a hotel room in Wilmington, Delaware.

While I’ve driven through Delaware before, I don’t think I’ve ever spent any time in Delaware.

I live in North Carolina, and we have a city called Wilmington as well.

The World War II battleship U.S.S. North Carolina is on permanent display in Wilmington, NC.

I’ve visited the U.S.S. North Carolina two different times.

When I was a young teenager, my brother, father and I spent a day reliving history aboard the U.S.S. North Carolina.

It was a fabulous day as we pretended we were operating the guns to ward off enemy airplane attacks.

It’s amazing how one thought leads to another leads to another.

Getting back to why I am in Wilmington, Delaware.

I spent the last three days at ProfitCon 2019.

This was my second year at ProfitCon.  Last year was my first time visiting the garden state of New Jersey.

ProfitCon is the annual Profit First Conference hosted by Profit First Professionals.

This year my experience was not quite the same as my experience as last year.

Whenever I go to a conference, I always want to come away with one thing that I’ll change in my business as a result of the conference.

I was a bit resistant to listening to most of the speakers.

That’s not to say the speaker line wasn’t good or that the speakers themselves weren’t good.

The speaker line up was good, and for the most part, each of the speakers did an excellent job.

However, I think I am at a place in my business where I’ve learned all I need to learn for now.

This is an interesting place for me.

I love to learn.

My antennas perk right up when I get in a learning environment.

I’m one of those weirdos that actually enjoyed high school.

High school was not an angst-ridden roller coaster for me.

I have very fond memories of high school.

Learning is one of my biggest strengths.

Except for when it becomes my biggest weakness.

Learning becomes my biggest weakness when I get so caught up in learning that I don’t do the work associated with learning.

This year I’ve devoted an enormous amount of time to professional development.

I was certified as a business coach in March.

I’ve attended numerous conferences in three different countries.

It’s been a deeply satisfying and fulfilling experience for me.

However, I think my learning cup is beginning to overflow.

Earlier this month, I decided to put a boundary up to let the learning settle in and do its work.

Here is a situation that I’ve experienced on numerous occasions during my entrepreneurial journey.

I run into a roadblock

Consequently, I begin a learning journey so I can figure out how to get past the roadblock.

Then I work on the items, and I get past the roadblock.

I’ve realized this morning that I don’t need to learn anything more right now.

Spending time learning will just keep me in idle mode.

It’s a lot like when I’ve flown in an Airplane, and we must circle the airport until air traffic control gives us the go-ahead to land on the tarmac.

The biggest take away for me from ProfitCon is I already know everything I need now to progress to the next phase of my business.

If I continue to learn the next great thing, the only thing that will happen now is I will burn up my energy and my time.

The only way for me to achieve the next phase of my business is to act with the knowledge I have.

I’ve taken a lot of action this year which has been tremendous.

It’s time for me to graduate and get a job as the saying goes.

It’s time to transition from learning to doing.
